How to Buy Solo Ads Step by Step

Step 1: What do you need before you buy?

Before you spend a dollar, have three things ready. A squeeze page that gives away something free in exchange for an email address. An autoresponder with at least a few follow-up emails loaded. And a tracking link so you can see every click that arrives.

If any of those three is missing, fix that first. Buying clicks before your funnel is ready is the most common way beginners waste money.

Step 2: How do you pick a vendor?

Ask questions before you order. How was the list built? What countries do the clicks come from? Can you watch the traffic on a tracking link while it delivers? How fast does delivery start?

A vendor who answers clearly and specifically is a good sign. Vague answers, guaranteed sales promises and prices far below the rest of the market are red flags. I wrote a full vetting framework in my guide on choosing a reliable solo ads provider.

Step 3: How many clicks should you order?

Order 500 clicks for your first test. Smaller orders can look great or terrible by pure chance, and you will learn nothing you can trust. At 500 clicks you see a real opt-in rate and enough leads to judge the traffic properly.

Step 4: What do you send the vendor?

Most vendors want your squeeze page link and either your email copy or approval to write it for you. Keep the copy short and curious. The email's only job is to earn the click. The squeeze page does the selling.

Step 5: What happens after you order?

The vendor schedules your run and the clicks start landing. On my orders, clicks start within 24 hours and you get a public tracking link so you can watch every visitor arrive in real time.

While the order runs, watch your opt-in rate. That number tells you whether your page and the traffic are a good match.

Step 6: How do you read the results?

After delivery, look at three numbers. Opt-in rate, cost per lead, and how the new subscribers behave in your follow-up sequence. Opens and clicks on your first few emails tell you whether you got real, interested people.

If the numbers are healthy, scale up with the same vendor. If they are weak, change one thing at a time, your page first, and test again.

Ready to run your first campaign? Order 500 clicks and follow every step with your own tracking link.
